| Wow - I don't think I've ever seen the National team get beat this badly - 75 points?? How the hell do you lose by 75....??? I thought Canada was playing half decent after three comfortable wins against China and France, I know Greece is a different animal especially at home - but 75 points?? That is embarassing.

| Some more pre-tournament games:
Slovenia 86, Canada 71
Argentina 79, Canada 64 - Canada led 35-29 at the half, and were only down 2 going to the 4th.
Just a reminder - the Worlds start next Saturday - and Canada opens with Lebanon. All games are on TSN2.

| Watched the game and while Canada was in the game for most of the way the stretches of the game (first 5 minutes, last 5 minutes, and when going on offensive runs of their own) they just couldn't get stops. Rautins who is probably their best scorer in terms of getting points in their system played as well as he could with 4 fouls but they aren't going to beat people giving up 80+.
I didn't think we played with enough grit and discipline defensively. Now we may have had a harder time adjusting to the game the officials were calling (26-11 foul count) but I felt like too many of our subs were made to make sure we could keep scoring. We got down early and it became too much about getting and maintaining offensive production particularly when Rautins was out.
Brown is a slasher and scorer but is way out of control and gambling out both ends of the floor. On another team maybe this works but this team needs to grind out wins.
I would have like to see Doornekamp before Olnyk but overall foul trouble, inconsistent defesne and poor execution down the stretch stops us from getting a win at this level. |

| Damn lost to lithuania by 2....much better team canada than yeterday....still blew a 17pt lead in 3rd....but down the stretch they were much more poised and defended well and got good shots....got 3 straight stops in last minute but couldn't convert... 2nd game in a row with Rautin on the bench in dying minute....tough break for canada...but they played much better today... |

| We were much better today. I thought Dornekamp's presence early set a grittier tone at both ends. PLayed real well early and just went on another stretch of struggling to score without starters on the floor. This is a great defensive effort against a top ranked team.
UNfortunately 0-2 combined with an upset of Spain by France means we will need to win at least 2 of our last 3 and maybe all three to qualify for crossovers. |
